Mac is a Belgian Malinois born December 20, 2004.  Mac is a dual-purpose Sheriff Canine trained in explosive detection and patrol work.  The Howard County Sheriff Department purchased Mac from Vohne Liche Kennels, owned and operated by Ken Licklider.  Deputy Kline and Mac completed a five week Police Canine School at Vohne Liche Kennels in Denver, Indiana. Deputy Kline and Mac were certified as a Canine Team after the completion of the training and are also certified nationally in explosive detection and patrol.

Mac is a dual purpose Sheriff Canine. He is trained in locating Explosive materials and Patrol work which include: Control, Obedience, Apprehension, Building and Area Searches, Tracking, and Handler Protection.


Mac currently works the day shift patrol with his handler, Deputy Sheriff Stephen Kline.  When not at work he lives with Deputy Kline and his family.
