NEWS RELEASE:

SHERIFF DEPARTMENT SEEKS IDENTITY OF SUSPECTS

(Kokomo, IN)  The Howard County Sheriff Department is requesting assistance in identifying two suspects involved in a theft from a vehicle.  On the morning of Thursday April 8 a female victim reported that her van had been entered overnight, and a debit card and drivers license were stolen.  The debit card was used twice during the early morning hours prior to the time the theft was reported.  Purchases were made at the Circle K at Center Road and US 31 at 2:51 a.m. and at the Kokomo Wal-Mart at 3:22 a.m.  Surveillance cameras at both locations captured images of the suspects, but investigators have been unable to establish their identity.  Both suspects are white males, and appear to be in their late teens or early twenties.  Both have a slender build.  Anyone who might recognize the suspects, or who may have observed them at the businesses is asked to contact Detective Sherrie Galloway at the Howard County Sheriff Department, telephone (765) 456-2031 ext. 238.  “Callers can remain anonymous.  We just need a name if someone recognizes either individual,” said Galloway.

As the weather warms up overnight vehicle break ins are on the increase.  “Several vehicles were entered last weekend.  People are allowing themselves to be victimized by leaving their vehicles unlocked, and then leaving wallets, purses, credit or debit cards, checkbooks, GPS units, and other valuables inside.  In today’s world you just can’t do this,” said Sheriff Marty Talbert.
